Overview
VALORANT is a 5v5 team-based tactical shooter, giving players 13 rounds to attack and defend sides. The game blendsplay with unique character abilities, forming the epitome of strategic gameplay. In three years, VALORANT boasted 22 million active players in October 2023 and launched its esports program with international events across the globe. Its largest event saw approximately 1,300,000 peak concurrent viewers.
Currently, Riot Games doesn't offer a platform to give viewers an encompassing method to keep up with their favorite teams, match results, and statistics. As a personal passion project and in conjunction with a school assignment, I set out to design a central home for giving all viewers an accessible path to game details and data and centralized platform for community engagement.
Viewers have to constantly refresh pages on mobile to see score updates, leading to a 5-10 minute delay behind the live score.
Difficult finding relevant statistics and insights on match pages
The content feed cannot be customized, leading to a feed packed with results from various regions that aren't relevant to the viewer.
People want better ways to keep up with VCT on-the-go

A tailored home page, where users can select the teams they want to follow, showcasing recent scores, future matches, and articles & media.
Utilizing one of iOS’s new features, live updates will allow users to see updates of competitive matches as it’s happening continuously.
Ability to spend in-app points, earned through engaging on forums and watching games, to predict on matches. The points model is derived from Twitch’s channel points feature.
In-depth guides & videos into how VCT teams excel and operate, lowering the barrier for beginning players and introducing esports to a wider audience
